Hi I am trying to book a day at Disney for a group of 13. We want to be able to come to the park and stay for new years Fireworks. I believe this is the only park that will be open at that time, though I have not been able to confirm through your website

Hi there, Mark! Welcome to planDisney!

Oh boy! Mark, I can't think of a better way to ring in the new year than a visit to Walt Disney World Resort. Not only that, but it sounds like you have a whole crew that will be joining you! What could be more magical than that? You're sure to make memories that will last a lifetime and I'd love to help with planning your trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth!

Walt Disney World Resort has previously had incredible fireworks and nighttime spectaculars to commemorate the New Year! We haven't heard details of what we can expect this year as we anticipate the arrival of 2023, but I'd recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog which always announces these exciting events first! In the past, we've typically heard in early November, so I hope that we hear more details soon.

That doesn't mean that you don't need to start planning now! To my knowledge, Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, and Disney's Hollywood Studios should have opportunities to stay in the parks until midnight. It's important that you purchase your theme park tickets and make theme park reservations using the Disney Park Pass system as soon as you're able. In fact, take a peek at the Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar to see which parks will be available for your trip. If the park you're hoping for isn't available at this time, I'd recommend making a reservation for an available park to secure your spot, then keep checking back. As Guests' plans can shift and change, you might find availability as you get closer to your trip. Check back a few times a day, then modify your theme park reservations if they become available. Whichever park you visit, you're sure to feel festive and have opportunities to make core memories!

Additionally, you could make a resort reservation or advance dining reservation at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel that offers views of Magic Kingdom Park from a distance, such as Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Contemporary Resort, or Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. You could enjoy a delicious dinner, then stay for some views of any nighttime spectaculars! Or, consider making a plan to visit Disney Springs for some great shopping opportunities or dining experiences (my favorite is Chef Art Smith's Homecomin'). But the truth is this - no matter where you go or what you do, you're sure to have a great time because you'll be together.

I'm wishing upon a star that your upcoming trip is extra magical! If you have any other questions, please visit us again.

You've got a friend in me!
