Hi there Ethan, welcome to planDisney!
My family loves to dine at
Storytellers Cafe at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa for Mickey's Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet! Seeing Mickey and his pals in their adorable adventure outfits brings a huge smile to our faces.
You are correct that
dining reservations usually become available at 60 days in advance, but sometimes it's not always right at that 60 day mark. I also just tried making a reservation for Storytellers Cafe, and it does not seem to have any availability as of now starting on September 3 and beyond. There could be a few reasons for this!
The first reason is that there could be a seasonal dining option coming soon, as the beginning of September is at the start of
Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort. The other is that dining reservations don't always appear right away at the 60 day mark, so I recommend that you keep checking the
Disneyland app and the Disneyland site for reservations all the way up until your trip!
If you're looking for a
character dining meal, I highly recommend also checking out
Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel! You do not need a theme park ticket to dine at the restaurant, and you'll still get to meet some of your favorite Disney pals and enjoy a delicious buffet meal for breakfast or dinner. My kids love to wave their napkins around and dance with their pals when they visit our table.
I'm sending you all of the pixie dust that you're able to secure your reservation, Ethan! If we can help with any other questions before your trip,
please come back and ask.
Have a magical day!
Melissa
