For a Tron single pass lighting lane use: My daughter is on the 48” requirement. If she is under 48” and unable to ride: After my son rides with me while my wife and daughter wait, could my son then scan in with my wife (using my daughters unused pass)?

Hi Zachary, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. You must be extra excited to escape the cold and head down to Disney World in just a few more days! So let’s chat about how your son can get in as many rides on TRON as possible.

While Cast Members at the Lightning Lane entrances don’t typically check for identification when you scan a Magic Band or Key to the World Card, officially Lightning Lane Passes are non-transferable between guests.

But Hakuna Matata! You can use Rider Switch to make sure someone is always with your daughter and, as a bonus, your son will be able to ride TRON twice, once with you and a second time with your wife. The way Rider Switch works, one group enjoys the attraction (you and your son) while the second group (your wife and daughter) waits nearby. When the first group is done, the person who waited with the non-rider can head to the attraction. Rider Switch allows them to ride with a second person, so they don’t have to go alone. In your case, your wife can bring your son for a second ride.

To set up Rider Switch, your family will head to TRON together and let a Cast Member know you’d like to use Rider Switch. They’ll scan your wife’s MagicBand or Key to the World Card while you and your son scan into the Lightning Lane entrance to ride. Then your wife and daughter will wait nearby for you and your son to finish. They might even be able to squeeze in a ride on Astro Orbiter, PeopleMover, or Tomorrowland Speedway while you’re on TRON. Or I like to swing by The Lunching Pad for a Cream Cheese Pretzel (one of my favorite snacks at Magic Kingdom!).

If your kiddos love scavenger hunts, don’t miss A Pirate’s Adventure. It’s a fun way to explore Adventureland and uncover some hidden interactive features. The little ones in my family love to play in between rides. There are a few different missions that take approximately 20 minutes each, but you can take a break and restart at any time throughout the day.

I hope you have a magical visit to Disney World next week! And if you have any other questions, we’re always here for you at planDisney.
