Welcome to planDisney, Kerrie! Thanks so much for coming to us with your question today.
Planning for the weather is an essential part of your trip, whether it's going to be at the height of summer or the middle of winter. I was just at Walt Disney World last week and the temperature ranged from the high 30s into the mid 60s, depending on the time of day. The weather looks similar to that for your upcoming trip, so I've got some tips for you! First, layers are essential. Bring jackets, hoodies, and maybe even some gloves or hats that you can take off during the afternoon when it starts to warm up a bit. I see you've got young kids, so I recommend bringing a blanket or two to bundle up with in
the stroller! While it does get chilly at this time of year, it's still Florida, so temperatures close to freezing or below are not expected.
It does look like there's a bit of rain in the forecast as well, and how that affects outdoor attractions like the
Barnstormer or
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train can depend on what exactly we're dealing with. Outdoor attractions will close if lightning is nearby or if it's raining especially hard, but just a sprinkle of rain will not stop those outdoor coasters! If you don't mind getting a little bit wet, rainy weather is a great time to ride attractions because the wait times tend to be a bit lower. The bottom line is: don't let the weather discourage you! If it's raining particularly hard, take that opportunity to grab a snack, eat some lunch, or enjoy some indoor attractions. Disney World operates rain or shine, so don't let it dampen the magic!
I hope this answers your question, Kerrie, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
