Hello! I'll be renting a mobility scooter for my trip, but it won't be delivered until day 2. In the meantime, I'm using my knee scooter. Will the parks store it for me while I rent an ECV from them for the day at Hollywood Studios?

Hello there, Kathleen! Are you ready for some magic? You'll arrive at Walt Disney World Resort before Lightning McQueen can say, "Ka-CHOW!" I'd love to help you get information about equipment rentals while you're in the parks, so let's get rolling.

Your day at Disney's Hollywood Studios will run laps around all the others! My son loves this theme park, especially Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy is more my speed! With the addition of Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, this park does cover a lot of ground. You're smart to plan ahead for your mobility needs.

When you first walk into the park, you'll find the Electronic Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) rentals on the right at Oscar's Super Service. ECVs are available on a first-come basis, so I recommend arriving by mid-morning. On my last visit, I walked by around 10:00 AM and saw plenty of scooters, but availability depends on crowds, weather, and other factors. If you have the Park Hopper Option, you can show your receipt for a scooter at your next park at no extra charge!

I chatted with a checkered-flag-waving Cast Member who said you could leave your knee scooter at the ECV rental location. Remember to label it so it's easy to identify from any others. Another tip is to bring along a ribbon or fun sign to add to your ECV; it adds a touch of festive sparkle to your ride and makes it easy to find among the other identical rentals.

The Services for Guests with Mobility Needs page offers fabulous information about getting around the theme parks. I once rented a wheelchair when I sprained my ankle, and I found the process easy-breezy. Attractions have different policies, so ask a Cast Member at the beginning of each queue for procedures.

Kathleen, I hope you finish in first place on your upcoming race, er, vacation! Thanks again for stopping by planDisney. We're happy to be your pit crew!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
