A very warm welcome to planDisney, Shannon!
I am so excited to hear that you're planning a trip to Disney World for later this year! All of your hard work, research, and prep will be greatly appreciated by your family! It's so fun to be at The Most Magical Place on Earth with little ones. Be sure to familiarize yourself with where the
Baby Care Centers are located at all of the theme parks so you can utilize them during your visit. There are rocking chairs, changing tables, bottle warmers, microwaves, sitting rooms with cartoons, and a place to purchase necessities if you've forgotten anything for your little Mouseketeers.
Rider Switch and Single-Rider Lines are separate, time-saving options for select attractions at Disney World, Shannon. If you are planning to utilize Rider Switch, the first rider will be immediately directed to enter the Standby Queue (or the
Lightning Lane Queue if you have a Lightning Lane reserved for that ride). After they have experienced the attraction, the rider that was waiting with the children will then be able to go via the Lightning Lane Queue.
My suggestion would be to use the Single-Rider Lines for any attractions that offer them, as it will, most likely, be faster for you and your husband to each individually go through the Single-Rider Line than for you to navigate the Rider Switch option. (This has been true in my and my husband's experiences. Just note that not all attractions that offer Rider Switch include a Single-Rider option as well.)
I highly recommend staying up to date on the latest Disney World announcements by following and reading articles by the
Disney Parks Blog! There will be lots of exciting things happening at the theme parks and the resorts while you're visiting later this year!
If you have additional questions in the months leading up to your trip, Shannon, we would love to hear from you again at planDisney.
See ya real soon,
Allyn
