Ahoy Marianna,
Welcome to planDisney. We're so glad you decided to sail by with a question for us today!
I'm excited to hear you'll be visiting
Disney Castaway Cay on your upcoming sailing. US Residents sailing on round-trip cruises from Port Canaveral, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Galveston, San Diego, San Juan, New Orleans, and New York will be required to present valid identification during the Online Check-In process and prior to boarding. Based on the information currently available on the
Travel Documentation page for these itineraries, you can present an Original valid US Passport or US Passport Card, an Original valid Trusted Traveler Card, or a combination of an Original/copy of your state-issued birth certificate AND a physical Government-issued photo ID. If you're planning to use your driver's license instead of a US Passport, you'll need your state-issued birth certificate as well. Children aged 15 and younger are required to present one of the documents listed above but do not need to present a Government-issued photo ID.
I'd recommend reviewing the full details on the Travel Documentation page to make sure you have everything necessary as guests without proper documentation will be denied boarding. Your documentation will be validated before you're welcomed onto the ship, but you'll also need to keep a driver's license or other form of Government-issued ID with you at each port of call as
you'll be required to present it before re-boarding the ship. You are welcome to
contact a Disney Cruise Line Cast Member by phone with additional questions about your particular itinerary and identification requirements.
Once the documentation details are out of the way you are certain to have a magical day on Disney Castaway Cay. My family loves renting bikes to cruise around the island and my kids can't get enough of the fun at Pelican Plunge. You'll
work up an appetite with a full day's worth of activities so don't forget to stop by Cookies BBQ or Cookies Too BBQ near the Family Beach for a delicious buffet-style lunch, included in your cruise fare. You'll definitely want to save room for some chewy cookies for dessert as well, and if you have a sweet tooth like me, you'll stop at the soft-serve ice cream machine to make your own cookie ice cream sandwich. It's the perfect way to treat yourself and beat the heat while enjoying a day of sun and fun!
Marianna, if you have additional questions or would like more personalized suggestions for your sailing please don't hesitate to come back and let us know.
I'm wishing you a most magical voyage,
Amy
