Ahoy, Eric! Thank you for visiting planDisney with your question. Welcome!
If your children are US citizens, they may travel on your specific itinerary with either passports or an original or copy of their state-issued birth certificates. You can read more about the
travel documentation requirements on the Disney Cruise Line website. With the appropriate travel documentation, you will be able to disembark at all of the ports of call, including Disney's Castaway Cay.
You will show the birth certificates or passports of all members of your sailing party upon check-in at the port on embarkation day. After the travel documentation is initially shown, you will not need to present it again at the ports of call. However, adult guests will need to show government-issued photo identification to return to the ship. This information will be clearly communicated when you disembark. As an example, my husband and I made sure we had our driver's licenses with us while we visited Castaway Cay.
Castaway Cay is one of my family's favorite destinations. I recommend that you bring a bag for your time on the beach. You can pack sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, towels, and coverups in your beach bag. As you walk off of the ship and onto the island, you can grab towels for your use for the day. When you are finished with your towels, you'll find carts to return your used towels on the island. The island is well-equipped for a day in paradise. Lunch will be served at three locations on Castaway Cay from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There are beverage stations outside of the lunch locations. Be sure to drink plenty of water, and reapply your sunscreen!
Have an amazing time on your voyage. Please visit planDisney again if you have more questions. My pals and I would love to help!
