Welcome Home to planDisney, Gary! It is always a pleasure to meet a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member, and like the Genie, I am looking forward to making some magic for you! OK, let's begin with Holding Accounts 101. If you cancel a confirmed DVC Resort Reservation between 1 and 30 days from the planned check-in date, the Vacation Points go into a Holding Account. The same principle applies if you modify a reservation in that time frame and the change results in points being left over--those extra points will be placed in a Holding Account. Points in a Holding Account can be used just like any other Vacation Points that you have available to book a reservation, but there are a couple of important details you need to keep in mind. Holding Account points cannot be banked or borrowed--they can only be used until the end of the current Use Year, at which time they will expire. It's also important to know that you can use the points for a new DVC reservation, but the check-in date must fall within 60 days of the time of booking. Gary, you are in luck! You absolutely can transfer Vacation Points in your Holding Account to another Disney Vacation Club Member. However, the points will go into a new Holding Account connected to the Membership that they transferred into. So, the same rules apply to how and when they can be used. Thanks again for bringing your question to planDisney, Gary. If there are any other questions that I can help with related to Membership or Vacation Points, I'm ready to go the distance to answer them! Have a magical day!Susan
