    How much do I tip housekeeping

    Hi Kevin,  

    It’s great to see you again at planDisney, thank you for trusting our advice and coming back with an insightful question before your next visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! Cast Members are the real magic behind our special experiences and memories at the Most Magical Place on Earth, and I love that you’re already thinking how to recognize the hard work of the Disney Resorts Collection hotel housekeeping team.

    As with most gratuities in our everyday life, the amount to tip your housekeeping team during your stay is completely up to you based on the service received and your comfort. It seems that $5 daily is an average tip among my fellow Walt Disney World Resort panelist friends when I asked for more perspectives on your great question. The hardworking housekeeping team helps keep your resort room organized and clean, and recognizing their behind-the-scenes efforts will be greatly appreciated, no matter the amount you choose.

    I have a few additional “tips” in planning for tipping your magical housekeeping team:  

    • Place cash in an envelope marked for the housekeeping team rather than cash laying out in the room so they know it is intended for them.
    • Tip daily rather than a combined amount at the end of your stay, as the person cleaning your room may change during your stay due to scheduling. A daily tip will ensure the specific team member working in your room receives it.
    • My panelist pals and I all agreed that we have given a more generous tip when our families have had an incident in the room or any mess requiring additional service beyond the basics.

    I hope you can maximize the benefits of staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, Kevin! My family loves to stay on property for most of our trips as we adore the personalized service, immersive theming that creates a true vacation escape, and the ease of moving around to the theme parks or other resorts.
