Cast Members are the real magic behind our special Disney memories, and I’m thrilled that you want to recognize them for service that’s above and beyond on your vacation. I gathered all the details for you, so let’s discuss who you can tip directly with money at the Walt Disney World Resort and other ways to appropriately acknowledge amazing Cast Members throughout your stay.
Did you know the Walt Disney World Resort is the largest single-site employer in the United States? There are thousands and thousands of incredible people working hard each day to ensure we have the best vacation possible! They are the true heart and soul of Disney that keeps us coming back for more. The tremendous variety of roles, employment structures, and labor regulations dictate whether a Cast Member role can receive a tip; you may always ask someone if unsure, but I hope this guidance helps you know what to expect on your vacation.
You may tip Cast Members in the following roles: - Bell Services at your Disney Resorts Collections hotel for luggage, grocery, and other package deliveries or additional services provided on site
- Dining Teams, including servers and sommeliers at table service restaurants and attendants at Club Level lounges
- Room Service attendants
- Valet parking
- Club Level concierge services
- Pool Cabana attendants
- Bartenders at pool bars, restaurant bars, and lounges
- Spa attendants and those providing a service at a spa
- Styling teams at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and Harmony Barber Shop
- Housekeeping (please note you may have different attendants each day, you may wish to leave a tip labelled for housekeeping in your room daily)
- Minnie Van drivers may be tipped within the Lyft rideshare app
- VIP Tour Guides
- Hosts or boat captains for the Enchanting Extras Collection, such as a Specialty Fireworks Cruise or unique experience tour
Please note that at all table service dining locations, parties of six or more will automatically have an 18 percent gratuity added to the total bill. You may add additional gratuity, if desired.
If a Cast Member is in a role that cannot receive a monetary tip, or if you wish to supplement a tip given, I encourage you to use the Mobile Cast Compliment feature in your
My Disney Experience App. Find it by clicking the three horizontal lines in the bottom right of your home screen and scrolling down to Cast Compliment. Complete the form, and this praise will make its way to the Cast Member and their leadership team to recognize a job well done!
You may also bring your praise to
Guest Relations or the Guest Experience Team (find them under the blue umbrellas throughout the theme parks) and speak with someone in person about your incredible experience. They will ensure the Cast Member receives proper recognition and that their leader is aware of how their team impacted your day, too.
