We have tickets for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. We have dinner at Cinderella’s Castle at 3:55p, will get our bands after dinner. Is it possible to exit Magic Kingdom, go to Grand Floridian and then return to the Magic Kingdom for the party?

    Season's greetings, Susan!

A warm winter welcome to planDisney and thanks for returning with another wonderful Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. I'm thrilled to hear you'll be heading to The Most Magical Place on Earth so very soon - just in time for the most wonderful time of the year! I'm here to help you prepare for a festive and fun-filled evening at Magic Kingdom Park.

Susan, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is my all-time favorite after-hours special event. Of all the special holiday offerings available at the Walt Disney World Resort during the winter season, this one feels the most cozy, cheerful, and nostalgic, in my opinion! I'm very excited to hear that you'll be dining in regal elegance at Cinderella's Royal Table before the party begins. (My family recently did the same, picking up our party wristbands just after dinner!) Your plan to leave and re-enter Magic Kingdom Park is perfectly fine, Susan. However, I highly recommend picking up your wristbands inside the theme park before exiting to head to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, as the wristband distribution location at the theme park entrance is usually busier than those inside. The nearest wristband distribution location to Cinderella Castle is the Fantasyland location - at Fantasy Faire just outside Mickey's PhilharMagic!

The entrance to Magic Kingdom Park can become somewhat congested just before and during the early hours of the party, Susan. Therefore, if you're able to delay your visit to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa until after 7:00 p.m., this may allow you a more seamless re-entry into the theme park. I recommend attending the later Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade if possible (11:00 p.m.), as this viewing is usually not as populated! Be sure to pick up a party pamphlet when you grab your wristbands so that you can quickly reference the showtimes, cookie and beverage distribution locations, and more. There's so much you won't want to miss!

Susan, I hope you've found this information helpful and I wish you a holly-jolly holiday at The Most Magical Place on Earth! If you have any more questions before or during your vacation, you're always welcome to revisit us here at planDisney anytime. We're all ears!

    Happy holidays,

    Lauren
