Hi again, Rob! Thank you for this
follow-up question! I love when Guests reach out personally to me on planDisney to get more advice on planning the perfect visit!
You are definitely ambitious with your schedule, and I mean that in the best way! I’m the same way when I visit. I want to see and do everything I possibly can. And honestly, how do you choose between Fantasmic!, Paint the Night, and World of Color, not to mention Wonderous Journeys? Disneyland really does an incredible job with nighttime entertainment!
For your visit,
World of Color Happiness! is currently scheduled with two shows, at 9:00 PM and 10:15 PM, at Disney California Adventure. The viewing areas are tucked back in Paradise Bay near Pixar Pier, and this show draws a big crowd every showing.
Getting from there back over to Disneyland Park in time for another major nighttime offering is where things get tricky. You would need to work your way out of a crowded viewing area, head to the park exit, cross the Esplanade, go through entry again, and then navigate more crowds inside Disneyland. When you factor in timing and crowd levels, trying to experience three nighttime spectaculars across both parks in one evening becomes extremely difficult.
I know that puts you in a tough spot, because each of these shows is worth seeing! One thing I would gently suggest thinking about is which experiences may not be around forever. World of Color and Fantasmic! tend to be more consistent offerings. The
Paint the Night Parade though, is currently scheduled to wrap up with the conclusion of the Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration on August 9, 2026. For me, that makes it one to prioritize while it is here!
I know it is never fun hearing that you may need to narrow things down, especially if you have a one day visit. But having a clear plan built around your top priorities will help your evening run smoothly.
If it were me planning this out, I would catch the first Paint the Night Parade at 8:45 PM. I love viewing it near the
Disneyland Railroad Train Station or along Main Street U.S.A. by the
Emporium. Both spots give you a wonderful perspective of the parade, and are close to the exit. As soon as it wraps up, I would head straight over to Disney California Adventure and make my way toward Paradise Bay for World of Color.
For World of Color, there is a
Virtual Queue that can make a big difference. You will need to be scanned into Disneyland Park with a Park Hopper Ticket or California Adventure with a One Park Ticket prior to noon. Right at noon, you can request a Virtual Queue through the
Disneyland Mobile App. With it, you will have access to a preferred viewing section in Paradise Garden Park. If the Virtual Queue doesn't work out, there are still viewing areas available on a first come, first served basis.
I know I can't make the decision for you, and I wish I could! But I hope this helps give you a clearer picture of how the timing and logistics play out so you can choose what feels right for your visit.
Please reach out again if you want to talk through more. I am happy to help!
Wishing you many magical memories!
