Is Teppan Edo ok for someone with peanut allergy?

Welcome to planDisney, Paul! I am so glad you're here asking this very important question. Dining at Walt Disney World is part of the complete vacation experience, and guests with allergies can be accommodated during their visit. Special Diets-Trained Cast Members are available at restaurant locations across the resort to make sure the menu items you choose are safe to eat. Let's take a look at the process that will help ensure your meals will be allergy-friendly.

First, many locations will have designated sections of the menu that are allergy friendly. In the case of Teppan Edo, there is no separate section on the online menu. The suggested course of action for Special Dietary Requests is to speak with your server and ask for a menu that contains allergen information. This menu will show you which items include eggs, fish, milk, peanuts, sesame, shellfish, soy, tree nuts, and wheat. This menu type is available at all table service locations and select quick service locations. Buffet restaurants will offer an allergen guide. Disney notes that many meals can be prepared without common allergens, including peanuts, and the team at Teppan Edo will be happy to accommodate your requests on the day of your dining reservation.

Once your meal is delivered to the table it will have some kind of visual marker indicating it was prepared following the allergy request process. Speak with your server if you don't see the marker. In all cases, verbally confirm with your server that the order was prepared according to your request.

I understand that dining with a food allergy can be daunting, but the culinary team at Disney World is well-prepared to handle your request. Their robust protocols are designed with safety in mind, and communicating your needs to your server is key. You can rest assured knowing that Disney handles thousands of similar requests and prioritizes guest safety when it comes to food!

Please let us know if there are other questions we can answer for you, Paul. I'm so glad you stopped by planDisney, and I hope to see you real soon!

    Stay magical,
    Scott
