Hello! We are taking our first Disney Cruise in May 2025 & we booked port/Airport transfers via Disney Ground Transportation. Can you please tell me how this process works when leaving the ship to to back to MCO? (luggage, etc)

Hello Lindsay! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so thrilled you have your first Disney Cruise coming up soon! Even though you say it's your first Disney Cruise, Lindsay, you sound like a pro - port and airport transfers already booked through Disney Ground Transportation? Nice work, my friend.

Even though I don't love thinking about your last day on a Disney Cruise, the good news is, if you have a reservation for a Disney Cruise Line bus to the airport, the entire process is smooth and easy.

The day before you debark, your Stateroom Host will provide luggage tags for you. You'll have the option to leave luggage outside your stateroom door that night, to be taken off the ship for you. I'll admit, I can get a little flustered doing the mental gymnastics of figuring out what I'll need and not need in the morning (especially if there are kids involved), but I highly recommend taking advantage of this service. It'll make your morning more relaxed because you're essentially already packed! Lines for the elevator can be long too, and without heavy luggage, making your way to breakfast and off the ship will be a breeze.

Tip: I recommend taking a picture of your luggage tag or keeping an extra with you that you may not have used, so you remember who your Disney pal is. Guests disembark from the ship by group, and groups are determined by the Disney character on your luggage tag.

As you debark the ship in Port Canaveral, you'll pick up any luggage that is waiting for you at the terminal. Remember your Disney pal? Luggage is organized by Disney character, so that's how you'll locate yours. Easy.

After leaving the terminal and heading outside, you'll see the Disney Cruise Line buses to your left with well-marked signage directing you to your designated destination. In your case, that would be "Orlando Airport." Check in with the Crew Member who'll take care of your bags (again) and get you on the next bus, which is usually ready to ride.

And I'm sorry to say, you'll be on your way - back to real life!

I hope that this information has been helpful for you, Lindsay, but more than that, I truly hope you have the most magical time on your Disney Cruise. There's really nothing like it. If you have any other questions that come up in your planning, give us a holler! We're happy to help!

    See ya real soon,
    McCayla
