Hi! How strict is the 3 hour parking rule at Disney’s Caribbean? We have 5pm dinner reservations at Sebastians and was hoping to walk around the grounds and enjoy the Skyliner. This should take about 3 hours, but what if it runs over due to service/crowds?

Just a few days until you take to the skies on the Disney Skyliner, Eileen! It is with greatest pride and deepest pleasure that I welcome you here to planDisney. A meal at Sebastian's Bistro followed by a stroll around the Skyliner resorts sounds amazing, and I'm happy to answer your question about parking at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.

First, I'd allot about an hour and change for your dining reservation at Sebastian's Bistro. Couple that with the time it will take you to enter the parking lot, gather your group, and make your way to the restaurant, I'd say you're looking at an hour and a half to two hours solely on the meal portion of your three hour limit. You're in for a treat at Sebastian's, and my kids loved dining here! The rolls, pork, and bread pudding were all hits with our family, and I know you all are going to love it, too.

Once you're finished eating and are safely stowed in your Skyliner gondola, I'd start a stopwatch to see how long it takes to get from your station of origin to your destination. That will let you know how much time you'll need for the return journey back to where you began, and ultimately to your vehicle. If you're planning on exploring Disney's Art of Animation Resort or Disney's Pop Century Resort, I'd recommend walking to the central Skyliner hub at Caribbean Beach. If you'd rather take a longer flight over to EPCOT and bop around Disney's BoardWalk Inn or Disney's Beach Club Resort, it might be quicker to walk to Disney's Riviera Resort and catch your gondola there. Again, keep a close eye on the time so you can rest assured that your vehicle will still be waiting for you when you return.

Are you staying at a Disney Resort hotel? If so, it will be very easy to skip driving your own vehicle to dinner entirely. I'd take a bus over to Disney's Hollywood Studios, get on the Skyliner there, and disembark at Caribbean Beach. That way you're just a short walk to the restaurant and you'll be able to enjoy the grounds of a variety of resorts without worrying about your vehicle or parking time limits. That's one of the greatest benefits of staying at a Disney Resort hotel: you enjoy close proximity to complimentary transportation that can whisk you around the World. Disney World, that is.

Finally, if you do end up running slightly over time, I recommend giving the resort a call to let them know you're on your way. You can find the phone number for the hotel on the resort overview page on the right hand side, just below the inset map.

Enjoy your meal at Sebastian's and have the best time checking out the wonderful resort hotels that are connected via the Skyliner, Eileen! I love taking time to immerse myself in the vibes across Disney World, and I'm so glad you're doing it, too. I think that's what turns an average trip into an actual vacation. Come see us again with more questions! We're ready and eager to assist.

    Stay magical,
    Scott
