Wedding bells are ringing, Sheila! I can't think of a more perfect place to celebrate your honeymoon than Walt Disney World Resort. It's where my wife and I had our honeymoon, so I must say you have excellent taste in terms of choosing a destination for your celebration. There are so many ways to plus-up your time together at Disney World, and I'm happy to give you some suggestions to make this special visit worthy of your magical beginning as a married couple.
Before you even embark for your trip, you can peruse the
wedding merchandise online at the Disney Store. There are so many fabulous mementos here, and I think it would be especially cute if you and your spouse arrived wearing the bride and groom Mickey ears and the matching wedding t-shirts that are available! I know Cast Members and fellow guests love to see honeymooners enjoying themselves on vacation, so see if there are some accessories that will help you stand out for your celebration.
Speaking of accessories, make sure to pick up your complimentary "Happily Ever After" celebration button from the front desk of your resort hotel. You can proudly wear this button so everyone will know that you're enjoying a trip with your sweetheart. Cast Members were quick to give us a shout out when they saw our buttons, and it added that extra layer of fun to our day. We got to talk about our wedding and Disney experiences while receiving heartfelt advice and well-wishes.
Now when it comes to activities and entertainment for you two lovebirds, I highly recommend choosing one or more offerings from the
Enchanting Extras Collection. There's truly something for everyone on this list, whether you're wine connoisseurs, mini-golfers, adventurers, or just want to enjoy a ride in a horse-drawn carriage. In terms of entertainment, make sure to catch some of the amazing nighttime spectaculars around the resort, especially my favorite show of all time:
Fantasmic!Your honeymoon is the perfect time to splurge on a stay at a
Deluxe Resort hotel, and there are so many amazing options to choose from. Go wild with a stay in a savanna view room at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge or pamper yourself in Victorian elegance at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. You may also consider having a fancy dinner at a
signature restaurant. You can enjoy a meal at one of my favorite restaurants, Narcoossee's, or indulge in the ultimate fine dining experience at Michelin-starred Victoria & Albert's.
One final tip: purchasing
Memory Maker will allow you to download all the photos from your honeymoon, and you can let Disney PhotoPass photographers do all the heavy lifting throughout your trip! This is the best and most cost-effective way to capture all the precious memories you'll make on your honeymoon, and I highly recommend it.
