Howdy Melanie and welcome to planDisney!
Mickey shaped beignets! I say “beign-yay”! Which dipping sauce team are you on? Team chocolate or team caramel? I’m a team chocolate kind of guy, but I’ll never turn down a Mickey shaped beignet from
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter!
Melanie, I can get you to the French Quarter and those magnificent beignets, but it won’t be through Disney Springs. Bus or water transportation from Disney Springs is only available to Guests with a hotel reservation at the resort, a dining reservation or an experience package lined up.
Your journey to the powdery goodness will begin from the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort. You will make the short hike on the walking path from Disney’s BoardWalk to Disney’s Hollywood Studios where you will end at the bus station area. Look for the bus that is heading to the French Quarter and jump on board. You’ll be just minutes away from wheels down at the French Quarter and those mind-blowing Mickey shaped morsels!
Beginning October 6, 2026, Scat Cat’s Club – Café will close for refurbishment, with an expected reopening in December 2026. During this time, you can enjoy beignets at
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory!
When you have filled up on your beignet quota for the day and are ready to return to the Dolphin, head back to Hollywood Studios on the theme park bus from the French Quarter and you can walk or hop on a friendship boat back to your resort from Hollywood!
My planDisney friend
Allison and I had a chance to visit the French Quarter and
here is what we found during our day down on the bayou! If you have a future trip in mind to the magic, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter is near the top of my recommendation list of places to stay! How can you go wrong? Jazz music, friendly Cast Members, scenic views of the Sassagoula River, and of course those Mickey shaped bundles of joy!
Melanie, have a great adventure and don’t forget to enjoy a Mickey Bar or two!
Kurt
