Ryan,
Thank you for asking your question to planDisney!
My family is staying at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for the week of Thanksgiving as well! If you see me roaming the hallways, or enjoying a libation in the
Enchanted Rose, please be sure to say hello!
Because we are staying there too, I have been keeping a close eye on the progress of the renovation and refurbishment project as well. But please remember that my report here is tempered by the fact that Disney may change what it works on without notice, so this is based on what I know today, not what might happen in the future.
As of the time that I wrote this reply, the work on the main hall of the lobby building appears to be complete. You will see some draping on the upstairs hallways that peer down onto the main lobby hall, but that is related to work on some of those rooms. More to your question, from my investigation I have heard back that the room renovations have been completed in all of the resort buildings, except the rooms that are in that main Grand Floridian Lobby building. That work continues, thus the draping that I mentioned. So, your family (as well as mine!), should be able to enjoy one of the newly renovated rooms that are inspired by Mary Poppins.
BONUS TIPTake a peek at the shapes of the glass artwork on your room's main chandelier. You might find that one of them is different than the others, and it is a nod to the original Mary Poppins movie!
Please feel free to
write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions.
Have a Magical Vacation!
Doug
