I bought 3 magic band plus for my family traveling with me. All of us have our own Disney account. Which account is best to assign the magic bands to? If my husband joins me on a different trip can I let him use one of them by reassigning it to him?

    Hey there, hi there, Jennifer!

Welcome to planDisney and thanks for bringing such a great question to us! I'm a total tech nerd, so I was thrilled when they announced last year that MagicBand+ was going to be supported at the Disneyland Resort. There are so many great designs available and I hope that they continue to add functionality to its suite of features!

Congratulations on purchasing MagicBand+ for your family, Jennifer! I hope everyone was able to pick out the design that spoke to them. It's important to note that each MagicBand+ can only be linked to one account and one ticket at a time. First of all, I'm assuming that everyone's tickets are linked together within the Disneyland Mobile App. Using the phone that has everyone's tickets, each MagicBand+ may be linked to its associated ticket. So just as long as each MagicBand+ is linked to the correct ticket, then it doesn't really matter which account to which it is assigned. Just follow these setup instructions and you'll be on your way!

However, there are some features of the MagicBand+ that you can control within the App, like the light up theme color, brightness, vibration, increased gesture recognition, and other connected Park experiences. If a family member would like to have more control over these features, then it would make sense to have the MagicBand+ connected to their account so they can customize the Band with their phone.

When your husband joins you on a future trip, you can easily take one of the Bands and assign it to his ticket. Remember that the MagicBand+ can only be linked to one ticket, so you'll need to unlink it from the previous ticket (if active) and assign it to your husband. After that, he can totally use it when the two of you go on your Disneyland date! If you want to take him on an extra romantic date, consider the Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts Nite event, which takes place on select nights in January and February!

Jennifer, I hope that this response was helpful for you as you plan an upcoming trip to the Disneyland Resort. Please come by again if you have any more planning questions because you're always welcome at planDisney! Until next time!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
