We are staying at POFQ the first week of June and am wondering if the room renovations still provide a mini fridge or have they gone to bottle cooler? This will affect what I keep in it.

    Welcome back to planDisney, Lloyd!

It's always a special treat to assist a repeat visitor...but even more so when the question gives me the opportunity to talk about one of my favorite Disney Resort hotels, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter!

I've been fortunate enough to stay in one of Port Orleans - French Quarter's refurbished rooms twice now, and they are truly magical. From a soothing color palette with fun patterned bathroom tile to Mardi Gras-inspired touches that would surely have Princess Tiana's powdered sugar stamp of approval, it's all a practically perfect combination.

In addition to cosmetic changes, the refurbished rooms feature practical updates that I love as well, like personal bedside lighting, increased storage space, and convenient charging locations. Each room is also equipped with a small (but spacious) beverage cooler that cools to 41 degrees and above. My husband and I typically use this cooler to store bottles of water and the occasional leftover from meals enjoyed at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory and Boatwright's Dining Hall, where I can't get enough of the fried okra.

Speaking of things to love about Port Orleans - French Quarter, its compact size and authentic Louisiana atmosphere have Guests like you and me returning time and again. I typically request Building 4 because of its proximity to the Resort's lobby and refillable drink station. There's also a convenient shortcut to the Bus Stop through the building’s neighboring parking lot that has enabled my family to catch a few buses just in time. In my experience, calling Building 4 your magical home away from home means you're always almost there

I'm so glad you stopped by with your question, Lloyd. I hope this information helps you plan and has you even more excited for your return to The Most Magical Place on Earth! As always, feel free to come see us again at planDisney. You've got a friend in us!
