Hi Shawnae,
I like the way you think! I'm guessing that you too saw the
Disney Parks Blog's announcement about some of the plans for Walt Disney World Resort's 50th anniversary celebration and thought, "Man, I HAVE to be there for that!" I know I did! October 1, 2021 will kick off an
18-month-long celebration that will be EARidescently extraordinary, and I'd definitely encourage you to make plans soon to be part of the magic and fun!
As you're thinking through the details of your visit, I want to make sure you know that not only will you need valid
theme park tickets, but you'll also need to have reservations through the
Disney Park Pass system. While you'll select a set start date for your tickets when you purchase them, and all theme park tickets are
nonrefundable, I am happy to share that theme park tickets
can be modified if your tickets are unexpired and you would like to change the date. My dear friend and fellow planDisney panelist shared how to do that in this
helpful answer. As far as reservations through the Disney Park Pass system go, I'd recommend checking the
availability calendar before you purchase your tickets, then making those reservations as soon as your theme park tickets are
linked to your My Disney Experience account. Once you have those two things done, your spots in the parks are guaranteed, and you can start counting down the days until your Disney dreams come true! Of course, if you do decide to change the dates of your visit, you may simply cancel your current Disney Park Pass reservations and make new ones. While I can't say for sure what availability will be like next October if you need to make last minute changes, the process of changing your dates is easy peasy.
Thanks so much for bringing me this great question, Shawnae, and please know that we're always here and happy to help at planDisney. I'm sending pixie dust that all your plans come together
perfectly and that you and your family have a truly magical vacation this
fall!
