We will be staying at the new Ft Wilderness DVC cabins in September. There is no fitness center at the resort. Can we use a fitness center at another resort? Wilderness Lodge or Contemporary maybe?

Welcome Home, Pamela! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney--I'm so glad you found us. Your vacation is just around the corner, and I hope you're getting excited! I'm happy to help with your question today so you can incorporate some exercise into your vacation.

As a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member and workout aficionado, this question is right up my alley! I usually squeeze in some exercise when we visit Walt Disney World Resort (beyond the miles of steps we rack up during days in the theme parks!) and over the years have tried out nearly all of the resort fitness centers. However, my favorite Disney workout is a morning run to explore our resort and get excited about the day ahead--I especially enjoy running the loop around the resorts in the BoardWalk area and the path at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort

Pamela, the resort fitness centers are only available to Guests staying at that location--so you will not be able to access the facilities at Disney's Wilderness Lodge or Disney's Contemporary Resort. Plus, the travel time to another resort could tie up quite a bit of your day depending on transportation.

While The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort do not have a dedicated fitness center, there are plenty of activities all around the resort to stay active. These include dedicated jogging trails, biking, canoeing, and kayaking, which are also great ways to see more of Fort Wilderness! The cabins also have space for an in-room workout--including a private porch. I have a travel yoga mat that folds flat for packing and it's a great option for a quick workout without having to leave our accommodations.

Pamela, I'm sorry this wasn't the answer you were hoping for, but I am sure you will find plenty of ways to stay active during your vacation at The Most Magical Place on Earth. If our planDisney crew can help with any other questions as you make your last-minute preparations, please don't hesitate to reach out!
