Hi there, Jodi, and welcome to the
Disney Vacation Club corner of planDisney! It's always a treat to chat with a fellow DVC Member, and I'll be happy to talk through the ins and outs of
one-time-use Vacation Points with you. Let's get right to business!
Despite all of your best Member number-crunching, occasionally you may find yourself in a situation where you are short just a few Vacation Points to book the reservation you've been dreaming of. I've been there! DVC offers an option for Members to purchase up to 24 one-time-use points each Use Year for just this sort of situation. These points can only be used for reservations within the 7-month booking window, and you can make multiple transactions in your Use Year--for instance, purchasing 2 points for one booking, and 10 for another.
Jodi, the points you purchased are non-refundable and cannot be banked, borrowed, or transferred. They will expire at the end of your Use Year if not used for another reservation within that time frame. I don't know the specific details of your Use Year and the reservation you canceled, but I definitely recommend calling
Member Services to confirm the status of the one-time-use points. Since you're not too far from
Walt Disney World Resort, you can hopefully squeeze in a trip before the points disappear like Cinderella's coach at midnight!
I hope you can still enjoy using those points for a magical getaway--there are all sorts of options from girls' trips to a family vacation to enjoy spooky season this fall at The Most Magical Place on Earth. Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney, and please reach out anytime if we can help with any other questions.
Stay Magical!
Susan
