Hello. We are staying for the first time at the Grand Californian in 2 weeks. I’ve heard you can call the hotel directly and submit room location request. How far out from your arrival is best to call and how do I find that contact number? Thanks a bunch!

Hello and welcome back to planDisney, Julie. We're so glad you're here and brought us this wonderful question. Oh my goodness, your visit to the Disneyland Resort is practically here, so let's make sure you're all set for your stay.

I absolutely love staying on property at a Disneyland Resort Hotel. You've made an excellent choice with Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. The hotel is nestled within the Downtown Disney District and Disney California Adventure Park. Not only will you get the benefit of Early Entry, but there's an entrance that will take you directly into Disney California Adventure Park and is specifically for hotel guests. This is probably my favorite thing about staying at this particular hotel. There's nothing quite like stepping out of your hotel and directly into a Disney Park!

You can absolutely reach out to the hotel to make any room requests. What I've found to be the easiest is using the "Chat" feature either on the Disneyland site or in the Disneyland app to make any requests. And of course, you can also call to speak with a friendly Cast Member directly at (714) 635-2300. The last time I made a room request, I did so about 30 days prior to my visit, so I think now would be a great time to reach out. While room requests are not guaranteed, I know that the Cast Members do their very best to accommodate your wishes for your room. I've been lucky in the past, but even when it doesn't happen, my stays are always nothing less than magical.

It's officially spooky season and Halloween Time is in full swing at the Disneyland Resort. It won't be long until you will be smiling and waving to the giant Mickey pumpkin on Main Street, U.S.A. Be sure to swing by Haunted Mansion Holiday to see what Jack Skellington and pals are up to. Pay close attention to the spooktacular gingerbread creation in the ballroom scene. It's made with real gingerbread and is different every year. If the smell of gingerbread stirs up a craving as your doom buggy drags by, you can head back to your hotel to get a Gingerbread Calavera Cookie of your own to sink your teeth into. You can find this frightfully fun treat at the Grand Californian Great Hall Cart. This cookie is at the very top of my must-eat treats list.

Well, Julie, I hope this gives you the information you were looking for to take your next step. If you think of any other questions that we can help with, please come back to visit us. I wish you a magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!

    Happy haunting,
    Michelle
