Lea Marie,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
You get to visit two of my favorite Disney resort hotels!
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge may be the most beautifully decorated resort on the property. You truly feel like you have been transported to an exotic safari lodge!
All the standard Disney resort transportation routes from the Animal Kingdom Lodge are via bus, so unless you are going to spend your own money for a Lyft or Uber ride, your choices are based on what bus route is your best choice.
Official Route: Officially, for a resort-to-resort transfer, you should take the bus from the Animal Kingdom Lodge to
Disney Springs. From there you would transfer to a bus taking you to
Disney's Yacht Club Resort. These 2 bus rides should last about 20 and 25 minutes each, respectively. As always, remember that you have to account for the time you might need to wait for a bus to arrive at each leg of your journey, which can be up to 20 minutes each time. As such, you technically should plan for at least an hour and a half for the whole trip. It won't take that long, but it could.
Alternate Route: If you are not going extra early, or returning extra late, you could also consider using
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park as your transfer station. I think the route will be much faster, and if the timing on your buses works out well, you could be there in about 45 minutes.
BONUS TIPIf you have a sweet tooth, and have the time to visit the Disney BoardWalk (which is a short walk away from the Yacht Club), the soon-to-open
Cake Bake Shop Bakery by Gwendolyn Rogers will be just steps away with an array of delicious treats to choose from! I live a quick 10-minute drive away from one of her shops here in Indiana, and it is a delicious indulgence!
