We are staying at Disney Resorts before and after our Disney cruise. Can I leave my car at the resort if we take the Disney bus to and from the cruise?

    Ahoy there, Les!

Welcome to planDisney! You have such a fun vacation coming up, a Walt Disney World Resort stay on both ends of a Disney Cruise Line sailing is the best kind of Land and Sea combo!

We did this on the Disney Wish last spring, with “bookend” stays at Walt Disney World. We used Disney Cruise Line Transportation to get to Port Canaveral, and it really is magical to hop on the Disney bus and get dropped off right at the terminal. Unfortunately, for parking, Walt Disney World Resort parking is for Guests who are currently checked in at that resort. So, if you are heading out on your cruise in between resort stays, you will not be able to leave your car parked at the hotel while you are away. But I do have a alternative consideration for you!

The drive from Walt Disney World to Port Canaveral is pretty easy and takes about an hour. Port Canaveral has parking close to the Disney Cruise Line terminal with straightforward, quick access. You do not need a reservation, and you can pay when you arrive. From there, just grab your luggage and head in to start the fun!

This can also be a budget-friendly choice compared to other transportation options, especially depending on how many people are in your party.

Les, I hope your land-and-sea adventure keeps you smiling from start to finish! You are in for so much fun, sun, magic, and that amazing “only at Disney” service both during your hotel stays and onboard. If your itinerary includes a Pirate Night, you arrrrrre in for a treat! The Fireworks at Sea are a highlight and my favorite part of a Bahama or Caribbean itinerary! My favorite spot is the deck above the pool. It is usually a little calmer up there, and you get a great view of the deck party and the fireworks. The fireworks are typically launched from the starboard side of the ship.

One last sneak peek...If this happens to be your first cruise, be prepared for a grand entrance, with Cast Members announcing your arrival on the ship like you are visiting royalty! Because, with Disney Cruise Line, everyone gets the royal treatment!

Enjoy your Walt Disney World stays and your Disney Cruise Line adventure, and come back and see us anytime! We are always happy to help you plan and keep everything smooth sailing.

    Bon Voyage!
