Hi, I am staying in a Disney hotel and planning on driving. If I book a dinner reservation at a different Disney hotel, am I ok parking at that hotel for free? Do I need to tell reception? Thanks

    Hi Sophie,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for asking us a question, my fellow international traveller!

I typically rent a car during my travels to Walt Disney World Resort because it really does make getting to-and-from the airport easier for my family. One of the “perks” of having a car at our disposal is that we often eat in Disney Dining Locations that are located in Disney Resorts Collection hotels, because using other types of Disney Transportation to get from Resort-to-Resort can be relatively time-consuming.

I’m happy to say that, if you’re dining at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you should be able to park at that Resort for at least 3 hours. Sometimes, if it’s not a particularly busy day, they’ll allow you to stay for a bit longer – I would ask the Cast Member who will greet you at the Resort’s gate what your options are for the day.

When you arrive at the Resort where you’ll be dining, just show the Cast Member at the gate your Dining Reservation in your My Disney Experience Mobile App. They may also ask you to tap your Disney Band (or MagicBand) to confirm your reservation and show a piece of photo identification. Once that information has been verified, you should be good to go to park your vehicle at that Resort while you enjoy your meal.

I hope my answer helps you plan smooth travels throughout your Disney holiday. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
