Are you allowed to park at contemporary resort a little early for dinner at chef Mickey’s (9:25 pm DR) to watch fireworks from the deck before hand?

    Hi Lexi,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney! I’m so happy you found us to help you prepare for your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

Lexi, complimentary self-parking is available for day Guests who are visiting Disney Resort hotels for dining, shopping, and recreational experiences. Since you have a dining reservation, you will only need to stop at the entrance gate of Disney’s Contemporary Resort parking lot and show the Security Cast Member your reservation. I spoke with a Cast Member to clarify how early you could arrive for your reservation and was told that typically you can arrive one hour before your reservation time, however, this is at the discretion of the Security Cast Member based on parking availability. To ensure that overnight Guests of the Resort can park, you will be asked to limit your time parked at the Resort to three hours.

If you’re concerned about parking availability, you are more than welcome to park at the Transportation and Ticket Center and take one of the various modes of transportation to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. You could hop on the Resort Monorail loop or take the ferryboat to Magic Kingdom Park and walk over to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Theme Park parking is included for registered Guests of Disney Resort hotels and select Annual Passholders. For all others, standard parking is currently $25 per day, however, this is subject to change.

Keep an eye on the Hours & Events Calendar for the “Fireworks & Nighttime Entertainment” schedule during your visit. You can also view this information in your My Disney Experience mobile app, by scrolling down on your main page to see theme park hours and clicking “Today’s Showtimes.”

I hope this was helpful, Lexi. Enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World Resort! If you have any future planning questions, you can visit me again at planDisney!

Reach out and find your happily ever after,
