WE are staying a Cornado Springs in Oct, we are trying to figure out if we should rent a car or not is it easy to get around to all parks ect from Cornado? Thanks

    Hi Troy,

While there is free bus transportation to the Disney theme parks from Coronado Springs, if you're able to find an inexpensive rental car, it could save you some travel time during your vacation. Coronado Springs is a large hotel, with several internal bus stops, so you may spend time circling the resort. Additionally, if you have several meal reservations at other hotels, you will certainly spend time waiting for bus transfers if you don't have a car.

In general, you can expect to save something like half a day over the course of your vacation by driving a car rather than only using the Disney transport. You have to decide whether that savings of time is worth the financial expenditure of using a car.

There's a pretty lengthy analysis of this topic on the independent website blog.touringplans.com. Search there for an article called "Number Crunching Part 2: Spending the Least Amount of Time in Transit."

Personally, if I was staying at Coronado and could find a good rate, I would rent a car.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
