I'm a former research librarian turned stay-at-home mom. In addition to taking care of my girls, I spend much of my time in community volunteer activities at my daughters' school and at our church. I also love the theater and arts – we see several Broadway shows each month. I've never been much of an athlete, but the enthusiasm of the runDisney community pushed me outside my comfort zone to become a runner. I now have three runDisney half marathons and several 5Ks under my belt. I'm thrilled to have been a part of planDisney since the very beginning. One of my biggest loves is writing and I can't think of anything better than helping guests by writing about Disney travel. I grew up in Maryland and Maine and have spent the past 25 years in the New York metro area, but I truly feel that Walt Disney World is "home."
About My Family
My husband and I have been married for 20 years and recently had our anniversary dinner at our favorite restaurant in the world, Victoria & Albert's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. We met working on our college newspaper. He was the Publisher and I was the Arts & Entertainment Editor. He still works on the business end of publishing and I'm still writing, so we've definitely found a formula that works. We have three spirited teenage daughters. They are all active on the national speech and debate circuit. (They can't out-argue Mom yet, but it's close :-).) My girls also take piano and voice lessons and are part of several choruses and a cappella groups. It's a rare weekend when we don't have at least one recital to attend.
About My Disney Experience
My family is obsessed with Disney travel. We've been Disney Vacation Club members for more than a decade. I've lost count of the number of times I've traveled to Walt Disney World. I've stayed at almost every Walt Disney World resort hotel several times; our favorite is Disney's Beach Club Villas. In addition to Walt Disney World, I've also visited Disneyland Resort in California, Disneyland Paris (great food!), Hong Kong Disneyland and the Disney Vacation Club resorts at Vero Beach, Hilton Head and Hawaii. Beyond the parks, I've taken Caribbean and Mediterranean voyages on Disney Cruise Line and have taken six trips with Adventures by Disney: Costa Rica, Barcelona Escape, Mediterranean Magic, Quest for the West, Germany and China. I can't wait for our next Adventures by Disney trip, Peru. There is absolutely no better way to see the world!
