Oh, boy, Shelby! Your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation will be here before you can say, "Who's the leader of the club?" So, Mickey and I are here to welcome you home. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with this great question. It sounds like you're planning to bring some pixie dust to make your resort stay even more magical, so I'd love to join the jamboree and help.
I chatted with a mousketeer Cast Member who said that most standard rooms at
Disney's Contemporary Resort have sliding glass doors instead of actual windows, and the exact dimensions will vary depending on room category and location. While that's not the specific information you were hoping for, I did some research and have a few tips!
I looked at
photos online, and it seems like most rooms at this resort have two to three standard-size glass door panels, one of which will slide over another. If that's your room type, a banner might be tricky when using the door. And a balcony is a highlight of those rooms, so enjoy using it! I suggest bringing a variety of smaller signs or vinyl clings to make your room festive for your stay. Since the building is so large, a banner probably won't be visible from the outside, so I vote you focus the fun on the inside!
The Cast Member also shared that the doors of
Disney Resort Hotel rooms can't be decorated. They're not magnetic, and it's against the fire code to place things on the outside of your door. If you've ever been on a Disney Cruise Line trip, you know that door decorating is a tradition, but on dry land, you can stick to window decor.
Check out
In-Room Floral & Gifts to "plus up" your resort stay. Visit their website to peruse options like Disney-themed snack baskets and balloons. I can't think of a better way to relax than with a mouse-shaped treat in your room after a day at the theme park!
Hey there, hi there, ho there, Shelby, you're as welcome as can be at
planDisney anytime! Have a magical time on your visit.
Magic awaits,
Elaine
