Hi Dawn,
Welcome to planDisney! I'm happy to hear you're looking into
The Cabins at Fort Wilderness, they are a perfect getaway that is just a boat ride away from Disney fun! There are so many adventures to be had while staying at The Cabins. Guests can enjoy swimming, archery, visit the
Tri-Circle D Ranch and see Cinderella's horses, hop in a kayak or canoe, go fishing or even go horseback riding. My family is heading to The Cabins this summer and my kids are so excited!
The Cabins have a parking space for one vehicle (and if you
rent a golf cart, there's a small space for one), but if you have two vehicles, the second can be parked over at the Outpost (near the entrance of the property). Speaking of golf carts, they are a fun way to get around the resort! Guests 18 years and older with a valid driver's license can rent a golf cart from Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground up to a year in advance (both 4-seater and 6-seater versions are available).
While staying at The Cabins at Fort Wilderness, I highly recommend heading over to
Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long; it's a guaranteed evening of fun! Guests can purchase a s'mores kit from the nearby Chuckwagon Snack Bar and roast marshmallows with everyone's favorite chipmunks - Chip 'n' Dale. The Campfire Sing-A-Long is held nightly and is followed by
Movies Under the Stars (you can check with a Cast Member at The Outpost for the movie schedule during your stay).
If you're looking for a fun evening with music, food and laughs, I highly recommend getting a reservation for
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. My planDisney friends and I had a fantastic time at Pioneer Hall (we even got to cheer for our pal
Lizzie, who got to be part of the show!), the performers' antics will have you in stitches. Oh, I almost forgot - be sure to save some room for dessert!
Dawn, I hope this information is helpful as you're planning your trip to
Disney World. If you have any other questions, please visit us at
planDisney - we are happy to help!
Happy planning,
Candace
