If I am staying at Art of Animation in WDW, FL, and have breakfast reservations at Chef Mickey's at 7:30, How would I get there? It is my understanding that buses do not start running until 8am or an hour before park opening

    Hey there, Krystal!

Thanks for bringing your question to us today. I'm excited to hear about your upcoming trip. I love Disney's Art of Animation Resort and think you'll be enchanted by the colorful and whimsical character decor around the resort property.

Complimentary bus transportation is available between all Disney Resorts Collection hotels and theme parks. The official word is that transportation is typically available beginning 45 min prior to park opening, but I have experienced buses running earlier. You'll be able to check the estimated wait for the bus using your My Disney Experience App each day. Simply navigate to the feature menu (≡) on the bottom right of the app and then click "Resort Hotel." You should see an option to "See Bus Times" where you can confirm the next available bus for Magic Kingdom Park. Keep in mind that you will have to walk to Disney's Contemporary Resort once your bus arrives at Magic Kingdom Park, as buses do not run from resort to resort.

Though it's less than a 10-minute walk to Disney's Contemporary Resort, I'd like to recommend an alternate plan. You can opt for Minnie Van Service directly from Art of Animation to the Contemporary lobby ensuring not only a stylish polka-dot arrival but eliminating any rushing and a potentially sweaty walk over to your early morning dining reservation. You can also use a 3rd party ride share service to travel between resorts. I've utilized them on a number of past visits and always find the rides to be very affordable.

Once you've finished your breakfast at Chef Mickey's I'd recommend taking the Monorail to explore the other resorts along Seven Seas Lagoon. The Monorail will bring you back to Magic Kingdom Park after stopping at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Alternatively, you can take a nice leisurely walk back to the bus pick-up area at Magic Kingdom Park after your meal.

I hope this helps Krystal! If we can offer any additional suggestions or guidance as you prepare for your visit please don't hesitate to come back and see us again.

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
