Hi Julie!
I'm so happy to see you have a Walt Disney World Resort vacation next month! I'm sure you're looking forward to all the amazing memories you'll be making at The Most Magical Place on Earth.
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is at the top of my favorites list when it comes to Walt Disney World accommodations. Waking up to a view of giraffes from a savanna-view balcony never gets old! The gorgeous African architecture and decor are amazing, and the resort features some of the best dining spots -
Boma - Flavors of Africa,
Sanaa, and
Jiko - The Cooking Place. Try the Indian-Style Bread Service at Sanaa - it's a must-do for my family - so delicious!
Did you know you can enjoy a
nightly campfire at Jambo House? Head to Arusha Overlook to gather around the glow and warmth of a campfire and roast some marshmallows from 5:30-7:00 pm each evening. S'mores kits are available for Guests to purchase!
I'm excited you're planning to maximize your time in the theme parks by taking advantage of
Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours. Early Entry is a benefit for registered guests of all Walt Disney World hotels, and
Extended Evening Hours are offered to guests of Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts, or other select hotels.
I spoke with a Cast Member who confirmed that you should still have access to Extra Evening Hours on your checkout day from Animal Kingdom Lodge. To
access any attractions and experiences in the theme park during these hours, you'll need valid theme park admission and a Disney MagicBand,
Disney MagicMobile, or a Key to the World Card (room key).
I hope this helps with your planning. Have a wonderful vacation, and say hi to the giraffes for me!
Diane W.
