Hello, Amy! Welcome to planDisney!
This is a great question I even had to ask a few years ago when planning our first split stay at multiple
Disney Resorts Collection hotels. Now, our family vacations to the
Walt Disney World Resort revolve completely around our split stays as we like to alternate between theme park days and resort/pool days, so when choosing our resorts, we look for proximity to the parks and which resort has a pool we think our three wild boys would enjoy. Most recently, we enjoyed a split stay between
Disney’s Beach Club Resort (for Stormalong Bay) and
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa (to walk or monorail to the Magic Kingdom).
Luckily for Guests like you and me, transferring luggage from one resort to another is super easy and, even better, complimentary! I suggest changing hotels when you visit the parks to enjoy the attractions when you don’t need access to your luggage. In the morning, head to
Bell Services and let them know you are moving to another resort. They will take your luggage, count the items, and provide you with luggage tags/receipts. By the time you need an afternoon break or to refresh before that special dining reservation, your luggage should have made its way to Bell Services at your new resort.
I suggest keeping a small bag or backpack with any items you may need throughout the day, like medications or swimsuits, if you plan for a lunchtime dip in the pool, as the transfer can take a couple of hours. You wouldn’t want to be without the bare necessities!
I hope this answers your question, Amy! If you have any additional Disney vacation planning questions or would like suggestions on which resorts to enjoy, please come back to visit us at planDisney!
See you real soon,
Brent
