I will be starting at HOllywood studios and have my last lightning lane there at 8:30pm. I then need to get to Magic Kingdom for another Lightning lane at 9:25pm. What would be the fastest way if I am driving myself to the parks and parking to get to MK

Hi Diane, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. It sounds like you have an action-packed day at Disney World tomorrow, so let’s strategize transportation!

To make sure you have as much time as possible to get to Magic Kingdom, I’d recommend scanning into your last Hollywood Studios Lightning Lane as soon as your return time begins (plus, you can usually scan in up to five minutes early). To maximize your time even more, you could pay for Preferred parking at Hollywood Studios so your car is closer to the entrance.

For driving directions, I usually use a third-party app like Google Maps, especially since it incorporates real-time traffic data. Once you get to the Magic Kingdom area, you’ll park at the Transportation and Ticket Center. From there, you can either take the monorail or ferryboat to Magic Kingdom. Generally, I find the Express Monorail to be faster, unless the ferryboat is about to leave. Be sure to take the Express Monorail and not the EPCOT or Resort Monorail (the Resort Monorail also goes to Magic Kingdom, but stops at a couple of the Disney resort hotels along the way).

I absolutely love Magic Kingdom late at night, and tomorrow is a great day to be there because there are two showings of Disney Starlight scheduled. After you finish your Magic Kingdom Lightning Lane ride, you might even be able to catch the 11:00 p.m. parade. My favorite spot to watch is near the Main Street, U.S.A. train station because you can see the floats from different angles as they turn around Town Square. It also makes for a quick exit after the parade is over. If you’re coming from a ride, like TRON, you might want to watch closer to Cinderella Castle.

I hope you have the best day ever tomorrow! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome back at planDisney.
