Ahoy there, Carmen!
Welcome aboard planDisney! Planning this far ahead is a great idea, especially when you're hoping to snag a particular sailing. Getting in early can give you more choices when it comes to staterooms and itineraries, so I completely understand wanting to know when those summer 2028 adventures might appear.
The not-so-magical news is that we're still going to have to wait a little while longer before those summer 2028 itineraries are released. If Disney follows the recent itinerary release patterns, we are expecting to see the October 2027 through May 2028 sailings released in the next few weeks or so. That's only an estimate based on historical release patterns, though, so I wouldn't start writing that date in permanent marker just yet!
Using that same historical information, I would estimate that the summer 2028 sailings will be released around February or March 2027. Disney doesn't announce these schedules according to a perfectly predictable calendar, so there is always a chance the release pattern could change. As much as I enjoy a good Disney plot twist, I know that's not particularly helpful when you're trying to plan a vacation this far in advance!
I would definitely make sure you're signed up for
Disney Cruise Line email updates if you aren't already. That's one of the easiest ways to
keep an eye out for the announcement so you can start exploring those itineraries as soon as they become available.
There's another little wrinkle worth keeping in mind with the next release. Even though I expect Disney to release itineraries through May 2028 in that batch, it's possible that some May sailings won't be included. Disney has historically released its Alaska and Europe itineraries together, so those sailings can follow a different release schedule than the rest of the fleet.
I hope this helps you get a better idea of when those summer 2028 sailings may make their debut! Until then, there's nothing wrong with
a little itinerary daydreaming and imagining which Disney ship might become your home at sea.
Sea ya real soon as we ride the wave of summer’s final stretch in Disney style,
Dustin
