Ahoy there, Kiani!
Welcome aboard planDisney! I’m sorry to hear that your passport decided to take a little detour of its own and disappear like one of the 999 Happy Haunts at the Haunted Mansion. Hopefully it finds its way home soon, but the good news is that your vacation may still have a perfectly good backup plan!
For U.S. citizens sailing on
a round-trip cruise that departs from and returns to the same U.S. port, there is another option. Since your
Disney Fantasy sailing leaves from and returns to Port Canaveral, you can use an original state-issued birth certificate (not a photocopy) along with a physical government-issued photo ID. If you are traveling with anyone age 15 or younger, they do not need a photo ID and would only need their birth certificate.
Since your sailing is coming up very soon, I would definitely make sure your travel documents are updated before you arrive at the terminal. You should be able to go into your
Online Check-In and update your travel documents with the information from your birth certificate and photo ID. Just remember that Online Check-In closes one day before embarkation, so I would take care of that as soon as possible.
If you have any questions or just want that extra peace of mind, I would also
give Disney Cruise Line a call. A friendly Cast Member can take a look at your reservation and confirm everything is shipshape before you arrive at Port Canaveral. A little extra confirmation now can help make embarkation day feel much smoother so you can focus on the important things, like deciding whether your first stop onboard is the pool deck or
Cabanas!
I hope this helps you get your documents sorted out and ready for your Fantasy adventure! Losing a passport can definitely feel like a plot twist, but thankfully this sailing still has another path forward.
Sea ya real soon as we ride the wave of summer’s final stretch in Disney style,
Dustin
