Seasons greetings, Jessica, and I'm so excited you'll be Ho-Ho-Home for the holidays at
Walt Disney World Resort! My husband and I woke up there Christmas morning a couple of years ago, and we'll be at Disneyland Resort this year for the big day. So let's brainstorm ways to make this holiday magical and memorable for your family...especially your little princess.
Bringing along a small tree to decorate together is the perfect start to your celebration. My family also enjoys decorating our
Disney Resort Hotel window with tinsel, window clings, and plush holiday characters. Keeping up any family traditions like cookies and milk for Santa will be memorable, and my son always got to open one gift before bed on Christmas Eve. Maybe some matching festive pajamas would be in order. Set up the timer feature on your phone and snap some fun photos to commemorate this first visit on this special morning.
As for gifts, it might be fun to have your family open a few small gifts that could be enjoyed on Christmas Day, such as a new backpack for your husband and a new Disney outfit for your daughter. Maybe she could be
her favorite princess for the day! In other words, wrap up things you might have purchased for the trip anyway so they won't take up too much room.
I'm not sure where you're staying, Jessica, but when my husband and I were at
Disney's Old Key West Resort, we brought muffins and hot chocolate to warm in our room's microwave for Christmas breakfast. You might check the amenities at your resort to see your options for a light breakfast in your jammies.
Have you considered purchasing
Memory Maker for this visit? Since this is a first visit AND Christmas, having all of your photos available for digital downloads will be a magical way to remember this trip. If you purchase it before you arrive, you'll get a discount and have more money to spend on those gifts!
I hope I've put you in the holiday spirit, Jessica! Please
stop by planDisney anytime. I'll have some hot cocoa waiting!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
