Hi Dave,
I love that you are thinking creatively about your time at Walt Disney World! Getting around Walt Disney World using
Disney transportation can truly be an experience in and of itself. There are so many great ways to travel around Walt Disney World, and each is unique in its own right!
Ultimately, you are looking to get from
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort to
Magic Kingdom. Your proposal is to do this using the
Disney Skyliner, then the
monorail, and then a
ferryboat. While theme park admission is not required to ride any of these, there is one issue with this plan, since, as you mention, you do not have a park reservation for
EPCOT. The Disney Skyliner station is at the International Gateway entrance to EPCOT, and the monorail station is at the main entrance to EPCOT. In order to get from the Disney Skyliner station to the monorail station, you need to walk through EPCOT, which does require theme park admission and a theme park reservation for this theme park.
I do have a couple of options for you. I am not sure what time you are heading to the theme parks, and this first one only works if you are going in the afternoon and have the
Park Hopper Option on your theme park tickets. You could change your theme park reservation to EPCOT and head there first and enjoy some attractions (and perhaps even a snack - EPCOT is my favorite park for food!) before 2:00 p.m. Then, at 2:00 p.m., you could head to Magic Kingdom as the park that you hop to. Alternately, if you were willing to do your transportation plan on your way home from your theme park and had the Park Hopper Option, you could leave the Magic Kingdom via ferryboat and monorail to EPCOT, and walk through EPCOT to get to the Disney Skyliner station to head back to Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. If you were going to do this, I suggest that you check the theme park hours for the day that you are going to be sure that EPCOT is open as late as you would like it to be when you embark on this journey. Also, please do note that Park Hopping is subject to availability, so neither of these options are guaranteed.
Another option is to break your plan into a couple of different days. Perhaps to go to Magic Kingdom you first take a
bus to EPCOT, and then ride the monorail and ferryboat. Then, on another day, you can experience the Disney Skyliner. You could simply ride the Disney Skyliner to various stops and head back to Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, or you could stop at one of the stops and explore. For example, if you do take the Disney Skyliner to EPCOT, you are barely a three-minute walk to
Disney's BoardWalk. This charming entertainment area has lovely shopping and dining, as well as places to take a relaxing stroll along the water. You could explore Disney's BoardWalk and then head back to your resort via the Disney Skyliner.
I would love to help you plan more Dave; however, I am limited in the amount of space that I have to answer. Please do write back if you have any further questions!
