Smile for the camera, Peter, and welcome to planDisney! How exciting to welcome the love of your son's life to the family while you're at
Walt Disney World Resort. My niece's proposal was near the Cinderella Wishing Well, so I fully support this romantic plan. Recording that special time for posterity is a fabulous idea, so let's look at your options.
I recommend booking a
Capture Your Moment: Magic Kingdom Park session
online or by calling the
Disney PhotoPass line at (407) 560-4300. For 20 minutes, a dedicated PhotoPass photographer will snap your party's pictures. Fantasyland is the perfect backdrop for a beautiful moment like this! To keep the proposal a surprise, I suggest you have a brief, pre-written note to slip to the photographer early in the session or when you check in for this experience at the Liberty Square Ticket Office.
The price is for the photographer's time and expertise, so remember you'll need to purchase any photos you want to keep. My tip is to buy
Memory Maker for that day or your whole trip. I added this PhotoPass product to my Annual Pass this year, and I love having unlimited digital downloads of all my images.
Another option is to let the proposal happen naturally during a photo taken by a Disney PhotoPass Photographer. The wishing well is typically a standard area the photographers cover, so your son could drop to one knee while posing for a picture! He could then treat his new fiancé with a 20-minute Capture Your Moment session to showcase their big news with a photo shoot.
Peter, you have some options, but Disney proposals are magic no matter what your son decides. Remember, characters relish celebrating milestones like this with guests, so be sure to let them know, too. A friend of mine proposed at The Crystal Palace, and Winnie the Pooh was as excited as they were!
I'm wishing on a star that this visit (and the proposal!) go off without a hitch...so your son can get hitched! Please stop by
planDisney anytime.
Magic awaits,
Elaine
