Hi Robert, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. That’s so exciting that your son is ready to make his own
MyDisney account and start getting in on the planning! I’d be happy to walk you through the steps needed for your son to start managing his profile.
First, whoever created your son’s profile within their account needs to go to their
Family & Friends List on the Disney World website. Look for your son under Guests You Manage and click the Manage link to the right of his name. On the next page, you’ll see a section to invite your son to sign in and plan on his own (this only shows up for guests 13 years of age and older). Press the Invite button and input your son’s email address to send the invitation.
Your son will get an email prompting him to complete the process. Once that’s done, he’ll be able to log into his MyDisney account on the Disney World website and in the
My Disney Experience app. Not only will he be able to help with trip planning, like booking and modifying
Lightning Lane selections, but there are also some fun games he can play using his MyDisney account and the
Play Disney Parks app.
Two of my favorites are
DuckTales World Showcase Adventure in
EPCOT and
Batuu Bounty Hunters in
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. They’re also a great way to explore all of the nooks and crannies in the parks that you might otherwise miss. But there are also games you can play at home in the Play Disney Parks app to hold you over until your next visit!
Happy planning and I’m wishing you a magical vacation to Disney World! If you have any other questions, you’re always welcome at planDisney.
