Welcome to planDisney, Barbara!
It sounds like you need that ECV scooter
Lightning McQueen fast! I'm thrilled you found us while getting ready to ride into your adventure at the Disneyland Resort today.
Renting a wheelchair or
ECV (Electric Convenience Vehicle) scooter is such a smart move to keep things running smoothly. The good news is that you can easily rent a wheelchair or ECV (Electric Convenience Vehicle) right outside the theme park entrance. The rental location is just to the east of Disneyland Park’s Main Entrance, so it’s super convenient.
Now, regarding the rental process, the important thing to know is that only the person who signs the rental agreement can operate the ECV. So, if your son is the one signing, he’ll be the only one allowed to drive it. However, it may be possible for someone else to handle the payment while the user signs the agreement and operates it.
Also, while we're on the topic, I highly recommend looking into the
Disability Access Service (DAS) if you haven’t already. It’s a bit like a sprinkle of pixie dust, helping guests with special needs navigate the parks with a little extra ease. You can set this up at the
Accessibility Services Kiosk when you arrive, and the wonderful Cast Members will be there to assist you.
I hope this helps you get everything in gear for a fantastic day at the Happiest Place on Earth, Barbara! If you have any more questions or need a quick response, feel free to
reach out directly so that I can answer faster than McQueen can say
