Oh boy! Oh boy! Amber, you are just days away from waving at Mickey and Minnie Mouse as you drive through the gates and they welcome you to the Most Magical Place on Earth. Hot dog! Hot dog! Hot diggity dog!
Have you seen the
Toddlers & Young Children Guide? This is rich in resources to help you make the most of a
Walt Disney World trip with little Mouseketeers. One of my favorite features is
seeing the attractions filtered for pre-schoolers, including the ability to add
heights and see all the possibilities for your kids.
I am so glad you stopped by with this question and knew to ask about
Rider Switch. The short answer to what you really want to know is that they will allow the adult riding second (one parent) to be accompanied by one Guest (your 4-year-old). 'Ohana is the spirit of the land, after all!
Here's how Rider Switch works. If one person in your group is not tall enough or does not want to ride but cannot wait alone:
- Arrive at the attraction with your whole group and let the Cast Member at the entrance know you would like to use the Rider Switch benefit
- Decide which adult is remaining with the non-rider; the others will ride first
- The Cast Member will give the waiting adult instructions on where to return after the first group has enjoyed the attraction
- The rider who waited can take one person on the attraction with them
So, Amber, I have a feeling your 4-year-old will have the best day ever! Double the fun!
In addition to the rides and attractions,
Walt Disney World offers magical experiences for kids of all ages. Have you heard of
Kidcot Fun Stops? When my kids were little, they loved exploring the World Showcase at EPCOT and uncovering a world hidden in plain sight.
Amber, I hope your day is practically perfect in every way! I know seeing the smiles on your kids' faces as they experience all the magic will fill your heart. Core memories in the making!
