Hi there, David, and welcome to planDisney! I couldn't be happier that you're here today with this great question about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. As a parent of little ones, I understand that planning a vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth requires a different kind of thinking and strategizing. Happily, my Panelist pals and I are here to share our experience with you!
David, I'd recommend heading to Magic Kingdom Park if you have one day to spend at Walt Disney World Resort with children between three and six years old. While each of the four Disney Theme Parks has plenty of attractions and experiences for this age group, Magic Kingdom Park will likely be the most relatable for your kiddos. There are also some things that all Disney Theme Parks have in common! For your reference, I'll detail some of the must-dos for kids at each park below.
Magic Kingdom Park is typically the park most Guests think of when they picture Walt Disney World Resort. With Cinderella Castle at the center and classic attractions like Space Mountain, Peter Pan's Flight, Pirates of the Caribbean, and more, you'll see your favorite Disney stories come to life in the rides and shows.
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is great for animal lovers and nature enthusiasts. My kids love becoming
Wilderness Explorers and earning badges for learning interesting animal facts. This is a great program because it can be done at our own pace as we make our way through the park. My Mouseketeers love the Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo: The Big Blue... and Beyond! If you happen to visit Pandora - The World of Avatar after sunset, you'll love how the scenery transforms!
Disney's Hollywood Studios would be a great park to visit if your family loves Toy Story or Star Wars. Depending on how tall your kids are, they might not be able to experience all of the attractions at this park, so check out this helpful listing of
height requirements. One of my favorite shows in all of Walt Disney World Resort is For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. It'll have you and your kids laughing out loud and singing along!
EPCOT has some of the most fun and interactive experiences for little ones. There's an entire area with an aquarium and two Finding Nemo-themed attractions that are fun for the whole family, as well as Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana. Throughout the World Showcase, you'll find a
Kidcot Fun Stop in each country. Cast Members will love telling your little ones all about the country and sharing fun phrases with them.
Earlier, I mentioned that there are a few things that each Disney Theme Park has in common. First, each park offers a Baby Care Center that's great for a sensory break or to purchase essentials like children's medication. It's not just for babies! Each also offers
Rider Switch Service that allows you to take advantage of rides that your kiddos might not be ready for. All parks have helpful Cast Members stationed throughout (look for a blue umbrella) who are ready and happy to answer your questions and help you in any way. Each park also offers stroller rentals!
David, I hope this is helpful to you as you plan your vacation!
See you real soon!
