Hi Megan and welcome to planDisney! The
Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is one of the biggest and most exciting
runDisney race weekends on the calendar. The theming this year of Donald Duck is sure to be a crowd favorite! Now, let’s race on over to your question!
I’m sorry to hear that you have some medical concerns that may prevent you from running at next year’s half marathon at Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. Generally,
runDisney races are
non-refundable and non-transferable. That means you will not be able to sell your race bib or transfer it to another person. While there are certainly no guarantees, you can try
contacting runDisney to see how they may be able to assist.
Megan, I know this may not be the information you were looking for, but please know you still have plenty of time to train for this race if you’re able to participate. In fact,
runDisney provides
training programs for runners of all experience levels that may help! My wife used one such training plan for the Princess Half Marathon. In addition, you’ll find runners that volunteer to lead pace groups that will help you maintain your pace and avoid the balloon ladies!
Megan, I hope this answer helps to point you in the right direction and I am sincerely wishing you the best in your recovery from your health concerns. If you have any further
runDisney questions or questions about Disney vacation planning in general, please feel free to
contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Sean
