I have booked the Brown Derby Fantasmic lunch through DVC, along with a safari at Animal Kingdom and fishing at Fort Wilderness. Is there anything I should be aware of? I received a DVC discount. I understand that food can be taken along for fishing.

Hi Denise, welcome home and welcome back to planDisney! It looks like your exciting RV trip at Walt Disney World is soon approaching, and it looks to be jam-packed! I love that you picked a mix of fine dining and adventure. Now, let’s dive into your question!

Denise, it sounds like you’re asking about any tidbits or other pieces of information for the activities you mentioned. So, let me run through each of the activities and my own personal recommendations:

    • Fantasmic Dining Package. You’re in for a treat! My wife and I booked this same package at the Hollywood Brown Derby for our anniversary last year and loved it! As part of the package, each person may order an entrée, dessert, and a nonalcoholic beverage (or an alcoholic beverage for guests 21 years or older). I recommend taking a look at the menu beforehand to see what tickles your fancy. As for your reserved seating at Fantasmic, you can arrive as early as 90 minutes before the show starts. If you don’t want to get wet, you’ll want to sit at least five rows up from the front!
    • Savor the Savanna and Starlight Safari. I’m actually not sure which one of these excursions you have booked, so I apologize in advance. The biggest piece of advice for these two is that promptness is key! Both activities state that late arrivals will not be able to participate. Also, if anyone in your travel party requires accessibility services, just know that you’ll be required to transfer from any ECV to a wheelchair in order to participate. Walt Disney World also provides a document that outlines sensory experience details.
    • Guided Fishing Excursion. I recently visited Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort to learn more about the activities and amenities offered, so you’re in luck! This is a catch-and-release experience with an expert that knows all the hotspots for finding bass. You’ll navigate through Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon during this excursion. If you don’t have any fishing gear, hakuna matata! They’ll provide rods, reels, tackle, and bait. You’ll also receive an assortment of Coca-Cola beverages. Denise, you’re also correct that you can bring your own food and beverage aboard.
Denise, I hope this was the information you’re looking for. You’ll find other logistical info at the links to the activities provided above as well. I love that you’re experiencing some of the more unique offerings Walt Disney World has to offer and wish you all the best on this upcoming trip.
