Can you set up a small tent or screened tent at the cabins at the wilderness

    Howdy, Lisa!

Welcome back to planDisney and thanks for moseying over with your question about The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. It sounds like you're planning to spend some time in the great outdoors during your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort - yee-haw! I'm happy to help you plan a wild and wonderful adventure for your crew of cowpokes!

Lisa, as a fellow Midwesterner who enjoys camping and spending time in nature (during the warmer months, of course!), I can understand wanting to set up a screened-in area at your Wilderness Cabin to provide shelter from the elements while allowing your group to enjoy meals and games outdoors! After speaking with some friendly Cast Members at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, I was informed that Guests staying in a Wilderness Cabin are welcome to set up a screen tent (not a camping tent) on the paved area near their cabin. Tents cannot be assembled on the patio of the cabin or the grassy areas near the cabin for safety reasons. Lisa, please note that Guests are not permitted to set up a camping tent near their Wilderness Cabin to increase the occupancy of their accommodations.

During your stay at Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, I encourage you to gallop on over to Tri-Circle-D Ranch to pay a visit to the Happiest Horses on Earth! Guests can enjoy scenic horseback trail rides and picturesque horse-drawn wagon rides, while littler Mouseketeers can partake in pony rides. You'll even be able to view the famous Dragon Calliope that Walt Disney originally purchased in the 1950s for a parade at Disneyland Park! In the evenings, you can cap off your memorable day at The Most Magical Place on Earth with s'mores and songs at Chip 'N' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long or by viewing the Electrical Water Pageant from the shoreline of Bay Lake.

Lisa, I hope you've found this information helpful and I wish you all the very best as you continue to plan a special vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort. If you have any additional planning questions, please feel free to stop back by planDisney again anytime - we're all ears!

    So long partner,
