Can I select a ride for lightning lane for all 20 family members at 1 time? Or do I have to select a ride 20 times each?

Welcome to planDisney, Rachel! It's so exciting that you'll be visiting the Disneyland Resort with your family! With a group of 20, a little extra planning can make a big difference in keeping your day running smoothly.

The answer to your question is yes! If your family's tickets are linked in the Disneyland app, one person can select a Lightning Lane return time for everyone linked to their account at the same time. You won't need to book the same attraction 20 separate times. However, the Disneyland app can only manage up to 10 linked Guests per account, so your group will likely need two people managing Lightning Lane selections, with each person overseeing up to 10 family members.

One strategy I recommend for larger groups is deciding ahead of time which two people will manage reservations. That helps everyone stay coordinated and makes it easier to keep your return times aligned throughout the day.

With a group that size, I have a few Q-Tips for attractions that are especially fun to experience together! Filling an entire boat aboard Pirates of the Caribbean is always memorable, and Star Tours - The Adventures Continue becomes even more exciting when someone in your group is selected as the Rebel Spy. Over in Disney California Adventure Park, Toy Story Midway Mania! is a fantastic choice for some friendly family competition. And when everyone needs a break, the Disneyland Railroad offers a relaxing way to enjoy the sights around Disneyland together.

Here's one more Q-Tip to help maximize your Lightning Lane reservations. After booking a Lightning Lane, you'll be eligible to make another selection once you've redeemed your current reservation or after the applicable booking window has passed. This can be especially helpful when coordinating a large group because it allows you to line up future experiences while still enjoying your current plans. I like setting reminders on my phone so I never miss an opportunity to book the next attraction.

Rachel, I hope your family has an incredible Disneyland Resort adventure! If any other questions come up as you continue planning, please stop by and visit us again at planDisney.

May you make wonderful memories together, from your first Lightning Lane reservation to your final family photo of the day!
